Important Customer Announcement – Upcoming Pool/Cafe Closure

We are pleased to announce that a start date has been agreed for the refurbishment of the pool changing village and café. The substantial investment includes full replacement of changing cubicles, lockers, w/c facilities, and café furniture. Consequently, both pools and the café will be closed to the public from Sunday 24^th December 2023, reopening as normal on Monday 29^th January 2024. Whilst we appreciate that this will be an inconvenience to pool users, we are excited to provide our much valued patrons with yet another facility upgrade.

Please note that both gym and studios will operate as normal throughout, whilst Swimming lessons will finish on Saturday 23^rd December 2023, restarting on Monday 29^th January 2024. If you have any queries please email dd@formbypool.co.uk

FAQ’s

What should I do about my swim school Direct Debit?

Our admin team will make all necessary arrangement regarding your Direct Debit, with all adjustments made in February to account for lessons missed. Please refrain from making cancellations at your bank as this will result in reallocation of your child’s space.

What will happen with Swim only memberships?

Direct Debits for swim only members will be suspended for January, restarting in February. Our admin team will make all necessary arrangement regarding your Direct Debit. Cash paying swim only members will have their membership extended by a month.

General Information

Formby Pool Trust is located at the heart of Formby within the local village. As a result of our central location the facility is accessible via train, bus or car. Our car park, accessible via Elbow Lane, contains 108 on site parking bays plus a further 4 disabled bays located at the front of the facility on Brows Lane.  Please note that the Trust currently operate an ANPR parking system with charges for non facility users, and free parking for all facility users (up to 4 hours). Vehicle registration details must be entered on arrival via one of the podiums located within the center.

Formby Train station is a 10 minute walk, or you can take the 160, 161, or 163 bus to the pool from the station. The X2 and 47 bus routes also stop within 2 minutes walk of the pool. Furthermore, the Trust encourages visitors to consider the environment and  travel to and from the facility via cycle or foot were possible.  We have plenty of secure cycle parking outside the front door of the facility.
